Licorice Root for Dark Spots

I know what you’re thinking, I thought the same thing too! No, licorice root is not the main ingredient in Red Vines, aka, red licorice.

The licorice root we’re talking about is the natural herb that has been used for thousands of years to treat illnesses, conditions, and diseases in the body.

Infused in skincare products, licorice root is used to brighten the skin, specifically dark spots. It helps reduce excess melanin and contains anti-inflammatory properties (which can help prevent acne that causes dark spots in the first place!)

Licorice root contains an active compound called liquiritin, it helps to disperse and remove existing melanin in the skin. So it not only fades dark spots but also helps to prevent new ones from forming!
